In practice
Application Protocol
Clean the repair area. Dry completely (carry a fast-dry cloth for field use). Round the corners of the tape piece — round corners resist peeling edge-lift. Apply under tension — patch slightly wider than the tear. Press firmly for 60 seconds. In cold conditions, warm the tape in your hands before application — cold adhesive doesn't bond as well.
