Cat-Cut Purpose
Standard tarps hang flat — when set over a hammock, the lower corners touch the hammock and wick rain from the tarp surface directly into the sleeping area. ENO's cat-cut curves the lower edge upward, creating clearance between tarp and hammock. The cat-cut geometry removes that wicking path entirely, which is exactly where a flat-edged tarp drips onto the hammock.
