Cold Performance
BIC uses standard butane (boiling point 31°F). Below 31°F, liquid butane vaporization rate drops. Down to 14°F, adequate pressure remains for ignition. Below 14°F, warm the lighter in your hands for 60 seconds — body heat restores enough vapor pressure for ignition. For winter camping below -10°F, carry a ferrocerium rod as primary.
